We are looking for a 2nd shift Inspector (hours 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday). Will train on day shift and then transfer to 2nd shift)
Summary:
The Inspector inspects production hardware/components for an aerospace manufacturer to ensure conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.
The pay range is between $26.00 to $34.00 per hours; the actual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Second shift does have a 5% shift differential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as materials, surfaces finishes, and dimensions.
Inspect components IAW detail part inspection report for each p/n.
Inspect artifacts and assemblies IAW part specific instructions, generate FAIR(s) related to AS9102 form 1-3.
Inspect and generate reports for qualification artifacts and exercise inspection IAW FAA delegations and customer delegations.
Compares surface finish of work piece using a profile meter to ensure production conformance to specifications.
Measures dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points to ensure product meets specifications using common inspections tools (mics, gauges, and surface plates).
Locates reference points on parts and measures dimensions such as angle, arc, and radius.
Inspects first run parts and reports findings to Supervisor.
Sets up and test inspections equipment to ensure accuracy.
Substitutes known values, such as dimensions, from blueprints into standard formulas, and solves unknown quantities to determine dimensions not specified in blueprints.
Education and/or Experience:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 2 - 5 years’ minimum aerospace related experience and/or training. Minimum 1-year FAIR IAW AS9102 experience. Minimum 1 year of aerospace related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to work with shop math to calculate figures and amounts.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variable situations in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing software.
Must be proficient in the use of inspections tools: calipers, mics, and gauges.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and travelers.
