Job Description

Serves as a technical expert who will be responsible for being a servant-leader for a high-performance team of developers in the design, development and implementation of the SAP modules. As a Sr. developer/tech lead, this individual will partner with the IT/Business owner, solution architect, technical analysts, developers in helping and guiding the project team in all aspects of SAP related application delivery from requirements through deployment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Hands on experience in SAP ABAP, SAP O Data Services (Web service), Workflows, SAP IDOC’s, SAP OOP’s and good understanding of SAP standard events
  • Perform System configurations that meet business requirements
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design
  • Envision and create solutions that meet the requirements of the business and provide the overall blueprint/roadmap for delivering the solution
  • Work independently and as part of a team to gather requirements, develop specifications, process flows, create system design, & application configuration
  • Drive the development effort by conducting/participating in workshops, discuss technical solutions, build prototypes and take on coding assignment
  • Create functional specifications for application development objects (interfaces, conversions, enhancements and reports and forms) and guide the development of those programs within the development team.
  • Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Play a key role in resolving technical roadblocks and propose alternative solutions
  • Perform code reviews, work with software vendors, coach developers, and advise teams of Ally standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes
  • Participate in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
  • Perform Functional testing of software before delivery to QA, fix bugs reported by QA for the software
  • Participate in defect triage and work with project team/vendors to resolve prioritized defect fixes
  • Conduct component level work estimation and assists in project plan development, execution and change control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent education
  • 5 years of development/configuration in SAP ECC 6.0 core modules
  • Experience with implementing SAP for Insurance and Reinsurance is required
  • Ability to work autonomously, solving complex problems in an ambiguous environment
  • Experience working in a global SAP environment.
  • Experience with business analysis, QA and testing of SAP applications
  • Experience working on 3 or more Full Life Cycle SAP implementations
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to software development
  • Ability to think critically and develop high quality project deliverables and ensure technology solution meets requirements
  • Knowledge of the software development process (agile and waterfall)
  • Knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems
  • Analytical approach; strong problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of Information Security Policy and Procedures
