The Quality Assurance Lab Technician is a member of the facility’s Quality Department and gets functional direction from the Quality Assurance Manager. This position contributes to the success of PLZ Corp. Chino Personal Care by sampling the quality control plans or process control procedures that ensure production of the finished product to a standard, ensuring overall quality of raw materials and finished products following Company standards. The QA Lab Technician works with a diverse group of employees.

Key Responsibility:

• Maintain a safe working environment 9and ensure personal safe working practices).
• Compliance with all employee job safety requirements and regulations required by company policies.
• Responsible for reporting any quality concerns to Quality Assurance Management.
• Assist the QZ/QC lead in creating and maintaining product master’s samples.
• Inform the QA Manager and QA Lead of any quality issues or processes that become non-compliant with the specified requirement.
• Ability to initiate root cause analysis and action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to the quality or the inconsistency of the bult product(s).
• Turn in all the approved batch cards to the planning department.
• Testing and approving all the bulk products for viscosity, specific gravity, and pH and providing the needed guidance.
• Managing the release for the three days of testing and release.
• Performs other Quality Assurance related job functions assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Other duties may apply as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field) or equivalent years of experience is required for this position.
• Preferably 3 years of experience working in a Cosmetics manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Requires intense oral and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Requires operational knowledge of computer literacy and Microsoft Office Software.
• Fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Work in a production area with fast-moving equipment, moderate to high noise levels, and temperature changes.
• Perform repetitive lifting, bending, grasping, reaching, pulling, climbing, and working at a computer.
• Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods.

The pay rate for this position is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour for the day shift. The planned work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 am - 2:00 pm, with OT as needed.
