Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI) is currently looking for a Technician I - Vehicle Emission Lab - Test Cell Operator CONTRACTOR for our Propulsion System Development Team in Chino, CA location:

Job Description:

HATCI is looking for a self-motivated person with a positive attitude for our Chino Research and Development Center. This person will work for the Vehicle Emission Lab (VEL) as part of the Propulsion System Test team. The first responsibility of this person is to perform vehicle emission tests (tailpipe and evaporative) per CFR and CARB requirements. This person will also be responsible for various other lab-related tasks.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicles for testing (fuel drain and fill, canister loading/conditioning, instrumentation, etc.)
• Perform various vehicle emission tests on a chassis dyno (vehicle setup and driving)
• Complete necessary test documentation paperwork
• Perform light mechanical work
• Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of chassis test cells and work area
• Perform additional projects as assigned

Skills/Requirements:

• Competent with MS Office applications
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior
• Strong diagnostic skills - ability to learn and understand new concepts and applications
• Strong attention to detail skills - follows policies, procedures, and safety measures
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

NOTES:

Shop/Laboratory Environment - exposure to fuel, compressed air/gas, emissions, and exhaust fumes; pinching, tripping, electrical, and chemical hazards. May be exposed to hazardous conditions. Bending and stooping are required. Must have a clear understanding of safety; must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work safely with hand power tools. Safety glasses are required.

Required Experience:

Basic Qualifications:

• Associates Degree, or 2 years of related experience
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai/Kia must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred:

• Experience performing EPA/CARB vehicle emission test procedures
• Working knowledge of EPA/CARB vehicle emission test regulations
• IUVP compliance experience
• Associates Degree in Automotive related subject
• Automotive Service Excellence certificate
