Position: Transactional Attorney

Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI

Plunkett Cooney, one of the largest and most accomplished law firms in the Midwest, is seeking a transactional attorney to support our business department. This attorney will primarily work on transactional matters, including cannabis law, real estate transactions, and commercial litigation.

The business department is looking for a motivated attorney who can be available to begin supporting department members with handling matters, research, drafting documents and building a client base. The preferred candidate will be an experienced and versatile attorney, with a client-centric philosophy, and who has demonstrated an ability to compete and prosper in complex environments.

To be considered, a candidate, who is in good standing, as well as an active member of the Michigan Bar, must have:

• A minimum of 5-7 years of working experience in transactional law
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and filing state and local license/permit applications
• Experience advising clients on municipal, real estate, land use and/or corporate matters relating to cannabis business operations
• Familiar with cannabis law
• A J.D. from an ABA-approved law school

The firm seeks a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to compete and prosper in highly competitive and complex environments, with significant client contact and client relations management. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. The position offers a remote work environment but requires an in-office presence on a weekly basis.
