Position Overview:

Be part of a growing dealership and one of the most important teams – the service department! PLS Auto is seeking a full-service Automotive Repair Technician to diagnose and repair operational issues on various makes and models of vehicles which are generally 3 to 10 years old.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints (described through a manager); conducting inspections; diagnosing functionality issues; repairing diagnosed mechanical failures in a timely manner; repairing multiple system issues including electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, steering and other system malfunctions; replacing parts and components
• Understand and use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software programs to maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
• Make any and all repairs necessary to vehicles including remove and replace of major components
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
• Contains costs by evaluating service and parts options
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• At least 7 years’ experience on the job as a diagnostic technician
• Performs advanced diagnostics for engine performance and chassis systems
• Provides diagnostic support help with other technicians if necessary
• Completes inspections and diagnostics in a timely manner according to management requirements
• Provides estimations for completion of times on each job
• Monitors repair order trends and reports those to Dealership Manager
• Extremely knowledgeable of vehicle model years 2006 – 2015
• Work must be balanced between speed and quality
• Must have the necessary tools to inspect and diagnose PLS Auto specific vehicles
• Must follow PLS Auto process’ and procedures
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
• A track record of dependable diagnostic capability – references required
• Work in a minimally climate-controlled facility daily
• Capable of customer interaction when necessary
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
