Position Purpose

The Configuration Analyst is responsible for analyzing and building the business rules and other aspects of system configuration to enable the successful use and deployment of PLEXIS products. In addition, the Configuration Analyst is responsible for interpreting requirements, recommending approaches, building out configuration, and testing specific software configurations and workarounds to meet client objectives.

A primary goal for the Configuration Analyst is achievement of high levels customer satisfaction and the successful leveraging of PLEXIS products to meet market needs, whereby the Configuration Analyst’s direct contribution of system configuration and assistance provided in client user acceptance testing (UAT) yields meaningful, successful results. This position works in a team environment on a client/project basis, as well as within ongoing planning and execution processes in coordination with other PLEXIS departments. This position is required to travel to client sites as needed and/or lead conference calls (audio, screen share demonstrations, etc.) with internal PLEXIS team members and external clients and partners.

This position requires close and productive collaboration with the PLEXIS Client Support and Product Development departments to foster and grow the essential alignment between PLEXIS products and client projects, with the outcome of successful deployments and maintenance of client system solutions.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Configure, test and demonstrate functionality in PLEXIS software products to illustrate how client business processes and objectives can be supported by PLEXIS software products.
  • Visit client sites and work remotely to collect business requirements for claims processing and payment, premium billing, capitation, reporting, and related functions (e.g., electronic data interchange – EDI) included in PLEXIS software.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions.
  • Participate in communication and information flow between client and PLEXIS project teams.
  • Work with various departments within PLEXIS as a member of the project teams.
  • Analyze client’s business requirements and develop proposed implementation specifications for running their business under PLEXIS software.
  • Assist PLEXIS business analysts and designers to identify software functionality gaps in the implementation and suggest approaches for developing solutions.
  • Assist with the execution of client training sessions for PLEXIS products in person or remotely.
  • Assist PLEXIS and client Business Analysts to create workflows, data diagrams, and other industry standard documents to represent client’s business processes.
  • Contribute specification documents for requirements, implementation, and gap analyses.
  • Assist PLEXIS Business Analysts in training clients on operational use of PLEXIS software products.
  • Maintain knowledge on PLEXIS products by keeping up to date on new features/functions made available each release.
  • Research and develop industry knowledge through websites, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Provide feedback on ease of use and suggestions on ways to improve functional and nonfunctional design of PLEXIS products.
  • Assumed annual travel for this position is 10-20%.

Qualifications

  • Previous Healthcare IT experience on the “payer” side and knowledge of healthcare claims processing industry practices preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong computer skills (use of MS Word & Excel, VISIO, Internet research, etc.).
  • College degree in computer information systems, business, accounting, technical writing, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, business modeling, and SQL database queries preferred (not required).
  • Analytical, motivated, and highly organized.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to interact well with people at all levels within a project team.
  • Creative imagination to develop original implementation solutions.
  • Strong analytical aptitude to derive workflows, data elements, processing rules, and relationships.
  • Willing and able to travel as needed.

Performance Measurements for this Position

  • Developing knowledge of PLEXIS products.
  • Demonstrated initiative to seek out and learn essential information for position (PLEXIS products, healthcare claims and accounting concepts, policies at PLEXIS, and client specific information for assigned clients).
  • Moderate level of understanding business processes and proficiency in identifying functionality gaps.
  • Creativity, logic, and appropriate knowledge to capture client requirements.
  • Timely, high-quality fulfillment of commitments made to clients.
  • Knowledge, application, and adherence to PLEXIS implementation methodology.

Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position

  • Ability to access input and retrieves information from a computer to produce typed copy.
  • Capacity to communicate adequately, in person or via telephone, in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the staff member is speaking.
  • Willingness and capacity to sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time.
  • Capacity to pick up, leaf through and read books and files and other materials.
  • Ability to reach forward, up, down and to the side in order to move equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to interact cohesively with co-workers, clients, vendors, and partner companies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with competing deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain regular attendance for normally scheduled hours, to work overtime and to be flexible to work other shifts as necessary (i.e., potential weekend schedule).

Working Conditions (in Remote Office)

This position requires the ability to set up and maintain a suitable remote home office environment, including adequate internet access (covered by the employee at their own expense).

The key physical requirements for this position include the ability to move freely through an office environment. Use of standard office equipment including PCs, Fax, Copiers, and Phone Systems.

Auto and Air travel to client locations will be occasionally required. Must maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license and either a valid passport or valid “Real ID” to travel, via airplane, within US and/or out of country.

Salary Range: $59,000 - $70,000 Depending on Experience
