A leading 21st century children’s Museum seeks an experienced project manager that will support the Senior Director of Operations in the oversight of all capital projects at the museum including pre-planning, construction management and vendor management.
A capital project is defined as one spanning more than four months or costs more than $250,000.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, weekends and evenings, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Direct support to the Senior Director, Operations, managing the component pieces of all capital projects underway at the museum.
· Assist in the planning timelines, meeting deadlines, managing outside contractors including construction firms, engineers, architects and other vendors deemed necessary to support the project.
· Produce or provide support to vendors to produce RFPs, as needed for capital projects.
· Work with Finance and project team on financial tracking and reporting to ensure project costs are in line with expectations and budgets.
· Supply timely supported information to the Finance Department to ensure payments are made to vendors on time and in the correct amounts. Primary to this responsibility is to ensure proper deliverables have been met by vendors prior to payment.
· Monitor that all requirements to meet government codes and regulations are being met by vendors and contractors.
· Work closely with Development to ensure all requirements of various grants and funding are being met.
· Prepare regular reports and updates to be shared with leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Bachelor’s degree – Project, Building or Construction Management preferred.
· 4-5 years of work-related experience.
· Extensive knowledge of major building mechanical and operating systems.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
· Engineering certification preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated commitment to the job, professionalism, flexibility, focus and production of quality work, while expecting quality work from colleagues, subordinates, and vendors.
· Ability to think strategically and to apply skills and experience to develop and implement solutions that are efficient and effective in both utilization of staff and expenditure of funds.
· Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
· Ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
· Must have PA Act 153 clearances (PA criminal history, FBI fingerprints, and PA Child Abuse) completed prior to hire.
