PlayStation Global is Hiring a Deal Process Manager Near San Mateo, CA

Deal Process Manager

The Deal Process Manager will oversee the end- to- end process of leading formal deal relationships between SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) and its partners. Your focus will primarily be on coordinating stakeholder input and approvals on key deal provisions, handling materials flow (both contracts and presentations) and coordinating communications regarding deals with internal SIE team members and our third-party partners. During and after the deal, there will be requirements for tracking agreement timings, archiving and periodic presentations and reporting on obligations and spends. .

These deals can range from marketing partnerships to content funding agreements to publishing to other strategic initiative agreements. This role will be responsible for administrative and tracking process of deals, and seeking process efficiencies with other Deal Management team members, Legal and Business Affairs, Partner Marketing, Store, Services, Finance and other relevant SIE partners. The Manager, Deal Process Management will be responsible for preparing and distributing presentations to executives and peer organizations and soliciting both feedback and approval. Lastly, this role will work closely with senior executives on deals originating from our top commercial partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end pipeline for Third Party deals for PlayStation
  • Maintain deal summary documentation, PlayStation and Partner Requirements, and follow SIE guidelines for what is or isn’t allowed within an agreement
  • Supervise the relationship with Legal teams to draft, redline, and amend agreements
  • Obtain approvals and guidance from internal constituencies at PlayStation to ensure needs are being met by agreements
  • Maintain boilerplate language and tools for quick deal creation
  • Create presentation materials for peer orgs, partners, and executives to outline deal terms, needs being met, and obligations being placed on respective organization
  • Lead peers through the end-to-end process for striking a deal, and managing the process for executing contracts and defining commitments
  • Oversee administrative functions for deals

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in video games or a related industry, demonstrating a strong history of relationship growth successes and/or working understanding of business fundamentals/legal frameworks
  • Experience with major entertainment partnerships is a strong plus
  • Must respect and honor highly confidential information, protecting both SIE and our third-party partners.
  • Deep understanding of all current PlayStation hardware platforms, games, console, mobile, social, and PC platforms, games and services.
  • Passion for games in all of their forms
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, comfortable engaging in communication with all levels of management, both internal and external.
  • Prefer experience working with globally distributed/hybrid work teams.
  • Must have a strong EQ, prioritizing an inclusive approach to collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, or other related field or equivalent work experience desired
  • Excellent project management and/or business development experience, with the ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects and competing priorities.
  • Highly organized, with incredible attention to detail. Comfortable working with information aggregation, management, and reporting
  • Proven ability to think strategically and analytically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.
  • Ability to take ownership of an issue and see it through to resolution.
