Job Title: Host/Hostess/Greeter

Reports to: General Manager and Assistant Manager

Job Summary

Greet guests, provide accurate wait times and escort customers to the dining and bar areas. Solid people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.

Essential Functions

• Welcome guests to the venue
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
• Direct bussers/Food Runners to turn tables in a timely manner
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
• Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress's name
• Greet customers upon their departure
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
• Maintain a clean reception area
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
• Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries
• Assist wait staff as needed

Required Skills

• Understanding and executing of health and safety rules in a restaurant
• Understanding and execution of restaurant etiquette
• Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
• Dexterity in carrying heavy trays
• Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities
• A customer-oriented approach
• Great physical endurance
• Able to move and clean quickly in a fast-paced environment

• Willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends
• Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
• Works well and efficiently under pressure
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of staff and management
• Food handling certification may be required according to legal regulations
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to SO pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 165 pounds
• Ability to work in an environment where you will be exposed to heat, cold, steam, etc.
• Frequently washing own hands and manual dexterity
