PURPOSE:

To improve students’ ability to succeed in the academic setting through an online environment.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

Ability to build, cultivate and sustain positive relationships
Ability to recognize and refer when students need additional support.
Good organization and communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders within the school environment.
Knowledge of classroom management and conflict resolution.
Knowledge of and experience in Professional Learning Communities.
Use technology to deliver instruction:
- Computer-based
- Internet-based (online)
- Audio and video

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitoring, supporting, rostering, and promoting online opportunities for students
Providing a syllabus for the course
Documenting grades for transcript purposes
Building a relationship with the student to ensure students are informed of options and on track to graduate
Monitoring online learning plan (setting goals) to include participation
Communicating with families and other support networks
Plan and implement highly engaging, effective and purposeful interactions with students.
Support the academic achievement of students through an online environment.
Maintain a general knowledge of the curriculum taught in the school to be better able to meet student needs.
Work directly with content teachers to support students in the online environment.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor/administrator.
