Description

  • Effective and strong telephone skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of multiple insurances, referrals and authorization requirements for providers.
  • Assist with clinical urgent inbound calls, must be able to manage call to full completion.
  • Knowledgeable with E-Rx (medical prescriptions) to patient’s pharmacy.
  • Help with patient’s prior authorization’s so patient can receive medications timely.
  • Ability to communicate with providers through emails or phone calls.
  • Competent with the terminology needed to perform the job.
  • Able to schedule appointments with multiple providers using Next Gen Practice Management.
  • Good understanding using EMA Electronic Medical Records.
  • Will work with Physicians and Providers on preferences and have clarity on how to manage inbound triage calls.
  • Able to triage phone calls. Can help answer the patient’s questions. Help direct the phone call to the appropriate team when needed.
  • Document calls appropriately.
  • Will assist with inbound faxes related to prescriptions or pathology.
  • Will be a team player by assisting path team or other teams as needed.
  • Will demonstrate Platinum core values daily.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize each day.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with providers and other staff.
  • Self -starter.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Create a culture of patient excellence and delivering customer service.
  • To go above and beyond for patient satisfaction.

Qualifications


Education: Certification not required, but preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.)

Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in a doctor’s office. Prior dermatology experience preferred. EMA experience preferred.

Performance Requirements:

  • Quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
  • Understand dermatology terminology.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients and coworkers alike.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
  • Valid Driver's License

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, postal machines, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted medical office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work.

Physical Requirements: Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally work environment may be very stressful. May view computer screens for long periods of time. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
