Description

Position purpose:

Oversee all day to day revenue cycle management functions including but not limited to transaction processing and accounts receivables management and help resolve any revenue cycle problems.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Oversee day-to-day operation, planning, oversight and scheduling of department transaction processing, accounts receivables and other revenue cycle management functions.
  • Conduct direct oversight and day to day management of all third-party revenue cycle management vendor(s) and manage/reallocate workloads appropriately.
  • Assist in management of integration processes for practices migrating to common Platinum billing platform.
  • Ensure efficient workflow processes for the revenue cycle.
  • Assure that all information provided is accurate and timely across all offices.
  • Works with credentialing to assure prompt ability to bill for services rendered by newly hired physicians or acquired physician groups.
  • Responsible for insurance follow-up, denial appeals, and customer billing inquiry workflows.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal billing and collection practices.
  • Develop, train, and monitor staff for successful performance of duties.
  • Implement written policies and procedures that govern the accounting functions of the practice.
  • Record and post payments to appropriate accounts.
  • Assist in balancing A/R, when needed.
  • Assist in reconciling statements, as needed.
  • Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports, as needed.
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivables. Report delinquent accounts to CFO.
  • Assist in preparing and implementation of changes in accounting system as necessary or directed.
  • Data entry on patient charges and refunds.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related specialty is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in medical billing/collections/revenue cycle management required.
  • Previous experience in working with offshore vendors and third party administrators.
  • Previous experience in accounts receivable required.
  • Thorough knowledge of payer required.
  • Working knowledge of month-end reporting process.

Equipment Operated: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Work Environment: This role operates in a professional office environment.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
