This position is located at our new Pittsburg, Kansas Health Center and is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day clinic operations, supporting high quality, patient - focused care. The incumbent will supervise health center operations and staff in a health center offering medical and surgical abortions. The manager is responsible for achieving high patient satisfaction ratings, health center productivity and assuring compliance with policies and procedures. Supports and carries out PPGP’s Mission: upholding the standard for providing high quality sexual and reproductive health care; providing education that promotes informed proud and authentic sexuality; changing the culture through proactive advocacy to ensure equality in reproductive and sexual decision-making.

Work Week - 37.5 hours

Starting Range: $58,000 - $72,000 annual salary based on experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Initially will be a member of the startup team which includes facilities, risk management, human resources, and health services administration members to finalize and execute the health center opening plan.
  • Manages daily activities of a health care team that includes an assistant manager, RN’s, LPN’s and clinic support staff. Monitors patient flow and maximizes efficiencies and productivity by adjusting workflow and staffing. Integrates front office operations with the patient service areas to deliver superior patient experience.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with PPGP’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising annual performance; coaching and developing team members; and addressing performance issues should they occur; addressing complaints and resolving problems in an effective, timely manner. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of teamwork and high staff morale. Builds and reinforces a culture where center staff is personally accountable and takes pride in their work.
  • Responsible for the revenue cycle functions of the facility and ensuring that all PPGP revenue cycle policies and procedure are followed by front desk staff. Ensures that cash handling policies and procedures are followed throughout the patient visit. Monitors audit trails and electronic health record reports to provide timely feedback and identify training needs of front desk staff.
  • In partnership with the security team ensure building safety for patients and employees and safeguards cash and other assets.
  • Conducts daily staff huddles periodic staff meetings and one-on-ones meetings to insure everyone is informed and current on affiliate news and performance expectations.
  • Regularly updates inventory counts maintains documentation of inventory for PPGP Finance department. Monitors discrepancies in inventory to make sure that PPGP inventory management policies and procedures are followed.
  • Effectively models positive customer services and is responsive to patient needs and concerns. Assesses and addresses patient complaints and provides appropriate referrals including but not limited to knowing when to escalate complaints within the organization and to whom. Takes remedial action when appropriate.
  • Initiates and implements new processes and services and completes change management work as needed.
  • Ensures that the VP of Health Services and other Medical Management teams as needed, are aware of health center incidents and/or occurrences. Ensures Health Center staff understand and comply with reporting guidelines.
  • Ensures accurate completion of patient visit records and manages documentation.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all agency information, employee nonpublic personal information (NPI) and personal health information (PHI), as well as records directly or indirectly identifying any per­son currently or formerly receiving services from PPGP.
  • Schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage in all health center areas. Performs multiple health center functions in case of staffing shortages, as needed and within scope of practice.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely billing of patients; understands basic principles of managed care contracts; compiles financial data and other statistical reports required by guidelines or requested by management. Ensures the highest level of customer service by regularly monitoring and measuring outcomes.
  • Supports PPGP’s Strategic Plan and ensures accountability through successful implementation of assigned objectives, specifically in the areas of employee recruitment, retention, and employee engagement. Achieves health center/affiliate goals and objectives including financial, customer service, revenue and productivity.

Qualifications
  • Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree(B.A.) from a four-year college or university and one to three years healthcare experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three years of supervisory experience in clinical health care settings
  • Leadership experience in an ambulatory surgical center
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Preferred
  • Reproductive health services clinic, hospital or other related clinical setting, and three plus years supervisory experience
  •  Experience with high patient volume medical or clinical practice environments in which customer service patient satisfaction are priorities
