What You'll Be Doing
The Corporate Sales Area Manager will be responsible for increasing membership growth and revenue by offering discounted memberships to single points of contact at businesses and organizations who in turn offer Planet Fitness discounts to their employees as an added employee benefit.
You will report to the Director of Corporate Sales and be involved in all aspects of the corporate membership program with a primary focus on driving membership growth through field generated lead follow-up, direct targeted outreach, networking, and cold calling. This position will oversee sales in a specific multi-state region or vertical market (e.g., schools, hospitals, municipalities) often in direct contact with the targeted company, their employees, and various internal contact levels.
  • Managing customer contacts with businesses, school districts, municipalities, hospitals, and apartment complexes, generally at the corporate level; must be comfortable and experienced making cold calls and dealing with senior management.
  • Takes a consultative approach to sales, while speaking on behalf of the fitness industry to help various businesses meet their needs and the interests of their employees.
  • Responds to inbound sales leads while also proactively prospecting for new business development opportunities.
  • Manages all aspects of the sales process from initial contact to onsite launch, including management and distribution of collateral with company details.
  • Partners with regional and club level management to ensure all aspects of the program are clear and concise, including launching new accounts for an individual club or region.
  • Tracks leads and new opportunities and monitors new membership activity.
  • Ensures high levels of member satisfaction and retention of corporate membership customers.

What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 7 years’ experience in sales, membership, or marketing.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high growth culture.
  • Willing to travel as needed to support geographical area.
  • Competence in making timely, effective decisions with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Primarily a sedentary role requiring extended periods of time performing work on a computer or driving a vehicle. Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and subject to a variety of physical conditions in the club environment.
