Title: ANTICIPATED OPENING 2024-2025 (English Language Arts Teacher – Full Time-Probationary)

The Plainview-Old Bethpage CSD English Department is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our team. Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards that cater to diverse learning styles

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and cultural awareness

- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and to share best practices

- Utilize high leverage instructional strategies to support a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing

- Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues

Key Qualifications:

- Motivated and passionate about teaching English Language Arts

- Strong background in literature and the writing process

- Collaborative mindset, eager to work in a team-oriented environment

- Culturally responsive approach to teaching including valuing and incorporating diverse backgrounds

- Strong grasp of using technology to enhance teaching and learning, including the use of Artificial Intelligence

- Candidates with experience teaching Advanced Placement courses are preferred but not required

- ENL/ICT certified candidates are considered a plus

- Strong organizational and communication skills

Location: POBJFK High School

Certification: Must have a current and active NYS Department of Education Certificate in English Language Arts 7-12

Salary: As per contract
