The Residential Specialist provides shift coverage at their assigned facility, as well as protective oversight as required by program guidelines. The Residential Specialist assists the Team Leader in ensuring compliance with all regulations and inspections necessary for licensure or certification. The residents at this facility have criminal backgrounds. The available shift for this role is 12:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., every other Saturday and Sunday.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide ongoing assessment of clients' functioning level and make team members aware of changes in functioning level and client needs
  • Prompt, assist with, and teach residents their independent activities of daily living
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
  • Assist in light janitorial, maintenance, and meal preparation as assigned
  • Assist with medications and monitoring residents' rooms and schedules as consistent with plans agreed upon by residents and staff
  • Demonstrate and foster a positive community within the building; engage residents to limit social isolation
  • Complete assigned case records on time and report service activities accurately, comprehensively, and in a timely fashion
  • Attend required training as outlined by supervisor and employee handbook and maintain any licensure requirements if needed for the program
  • Perform other related tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor
