General Description

The Clinical Supervisor of the Outpatient SUD Treatment Program at our North location is responsible for program development, implementation, and oversight while providing clinical supervision, and providing guidance to a variety of team members. The Clinical Supervisor also manages the population of individuals receiving our services while providing direct care services to a subset of those same individuals. In addition to ensuring ASAM criteria and QA standards are met, this leader is also expected to engage in quality improvement based on process/outcome/persons served data and feedback.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Model and support organizational efforts to promote a culture of health, wellbeing, inclusion, camaraderie, compassion, and appreciation of our collective work.
  • Promote services and coordination of care where we work across teams, disciplines, departments, and other providers to address the treatment needs most effectively of those we serve and take advantage of our collective wisdom.
  • Coach toward service delivery that is ASAM-criteria driven, recovery-focused, trauma-informed and culturally-intelligent.
  • Monitor person served census and each therapist’s caseload, assigning individuals as needed, and tracking progress.
  • Complete diagnostic formulations, assessments, and treatment plans while providing individual and group therapy services to a caseload of approximately 10 to 15 individuals.
  • Develop and implement an effective onboarding process for new team members.
  • Engage in at least twice monthly supervision sessions with all team members with feedback and direction based on job responsibilities and noted professional needs requiring development. 
  • Provide feedback to and promote the growth of all team members based on supervision information, observation of sessions, utilization management data, and clinical documentation.
  • Review clinical progress notes for each team member monthly to ensure accuracy, medical necessity, and appropriate interventionswith appropriate feedback and facilitation of improvement strategies during supervision.
  • Participate in quarterly peer review process and continuously monitor all therapist clinical documentation.
  • Complete annual performance reviews and professional development plans for all team members.
  • Review team performance data with a focus on access, efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability.
  • Monitor administrative and clinical process flows and identify improvement opportunities removing barriers and utilizing available resources.
  • Monitor outcome data, identifying and addressing any trends.
  • Plan at a minimum monthly meeting with the Program Manager and team to review dashboards, identify areas needing improvement, and create action plans when needed.
  • Meet with team weekly to review administrative information, complete case consultation, and facilitate Community of Practice.
  • Communicate information consistently to team members to minimize confusion or lack of understanding regarding organizational direction. 
  • Address critical issues including completing incident reports and addressing person served and staff grievances per agency policy.
  • Cooperatively manage team budget.
  • Participate in agency-wide meetings, provide training, and write reports as needed to support agency development.
  • Fulfill any on-call requirements as needed.
  • Completes annual training requirements as outlined by agency requirements and supervisor.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
