Placers is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to ensure that material flows efficiently and accurately into and out of the facility, supporting manufacturing, distribution, and repairs. The core duties would be to examine paper records for accuracy against incoming shipments, pick and pack items from our distribution department, complete all necessary transactions in our ERP system, coordinate with logistics companies for incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintain shipping material inventories. The person will support efforts to ensure timely, safe, and accurate material movement within the facility.

This role is expected to start in January 2024.

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri

Pay: $16-18/hr depending on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties maybe assigned.

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Picks and organizes instruments and parts for shipment.
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
• Completes transactions in the ERP system needed for processing and closing shipping transactions.
• Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, ERP data issues or nonconformance to specifications.
• Deliver or route materials to departments using hand trucks, forklift, pallet jacks, rolling carts or dollies.
• Contact carrier representatives to plan or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

Requirements/Skills:

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to pass an extensive background check and drug screening
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills to ensure on-time shipment.
• High sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Syteline preferred), UPS and FedEx shipping applications, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Proactively raises concerns and collaborates with others to resolve issues that are impacting customer delivery schedules.
• Ability to read and understand delivery schedules, pick parts from inventory and package them for shipment.
• Understanding of proper shipping and packaging practices, ability to construct wooden shipping containers / crates from wood materials.
• Experienced in coordinating LTL shipments with Operations.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate degree in business, logistics, or similar field preferred.
• Three years of experience in shipping and receiving role.
• One year of experience in operating a forklift required.
• Lean or six-sigma certification(s) are a plus.
