A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PIZZA RESTAURANT PREP COOK

As a Pizza Restaurant Prep Cook, you'll refer to the daily prep list to know which variety of meats, vegetables, or desserts needs preparing for future food orders. During food preparation, you are sure to follow approved recipes and proper equipment operation to make the item according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions. You are sure to maintain a clean work area in the kitchen as you weigh or measure ingredients, mix for green salads, make special dressings, stir and strain soups, or butcher and clean meat.

To ensure our customers always receive the freshest of food, you store ingredients in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage. You also take and record the temperature of food and storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers. You help receive and store supplies, equipment, and utensils in storage areas. Keeping track of inventory, you inform management when supplies are running low or equipment is not functioning properly.

Helping out your team, you perform opening or closing tasks, coordinate with fellow employees to meet guests' needs, assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and attend all scheduled employee meetings. Other duties include distributing meals to customers, operating the cash register, packaging to-go orders, and serving a variety of beverages. Putting a smile on the customer's face will put one on yours!
