Pixelligent Technologies is Hiring an Associate Scientist Near Baltimore, MD

Position Summary

Pixelligent Technologies is a leading advanced materials manufacturer of specialty chemicals for a variety of industries, such as display, AR/VR, and optical device and sensor applications. We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our team and develop innovative new products and formulations to meet the needs of our customers.

The Associate Scientist will support an agile research team focused on studying the surface chemistry and other fundamental properties of Pixelligent’s nanocrystals to support the development of new products. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about applying the scientific method to tackling complex systems.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Working under the leadership of the Technical Project Manager in a laboratory environment to conduct experiments. Experimental work will range from performing surface modification of nanocrystals (wet chemistry) to running analytical tests.
  • Collecting and processing raw data and then analyzing results within the experimental context to propose next steps and conclusions.
  • Communicating results directly to the Technical Project Manager through processed data tables as well as written and oral reports.
  • Utilizing Uncountable software platform to discover relationships between fundamental properties of Pixelligent’s nanocrystals and the performance of the resulting formulations and nanocomposites.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory.

Position Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field with 0-2 years relevant work experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Wet chemistry, analytical chemistry, and spectroscopy (IR, UV-Vis) experience are strongly desired.
  • Formal training in statistics or a strong practical understanding is strongly desired.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative work environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits good housekeeping to maintain a safe work environment.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
