1. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Technical Services Director, is responsible for food safety and quality assurance programs and activities for the Moroni Feed Mill, in conjunction with Mill management.
2. Essential Functions:
a. Maintenance of assigned facilities Food Safety & Quality Assurance programs, including HACCP plans, prerequisites, policies, SOP’s, etc.
b. Perform sanitation inspections of assigned facilities, at defined frequencies, to ensure proper sanitation adherence.
c. Perform quality verifications of assigned facilities batches and programs as defined, ensuring that all products meet defined quality standards.
d. Maintain the facilities Supplier Approval programs.
e. Assist and management routine sampling needs in conjunction with Mill management and the Lab.
f. Perform targeted sampling as directed.
g. Prepare paperwork and documentation on a daily basis.
h. Assist with certification audits, inspections and visits.
i. Enforce company policies.
j. Perform other duties as assigned.
3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
a. Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
b. Self-motivated; ability to function without continuous supervision.
c. Ability to lift and properly move at least fifty pounds.
d. Ability to exercise good judgment.
e. Ability to work safely and report safety hazards.
f. Ability to use a computer with routine Word Processing, Spreadsheet and similar programs.
g. Skilled record keeper, ability to produce and maintain accurate paperwork.
h. Demonstrated mathematical and writing skills.
i. Demonstrated capability in a quality assurance environment.
j. Must know and understand quality assurance procedures.
4. Qualifications:
a. General understanding of basic math functions.
b. Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb and reach.
c. Prior experience working in a food production environment preferred.
d. Graduation from high school and two years of experience with the monitoring and testing of materials and / or equivalent technical experience.
e. PCQI certification or the ability to obtain within a year of employment.
f. Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred but not required.
