SUMMARY

The Client Accounting Services (CAS) Supervisor is responsible for guiding the strategy of their assigned practice group and providing accounting services and expertise to a portfolio of clients. The CAS Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff members and ensuring the success of the team, they demonstrate an understanding of the Firm’s values and champion opportunities to celebrate shared accomplishments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Client Management & Service

  • Responsible for client outcomes and forward looking with respect to client success.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients; develop strong client relationships through client interaction, demonstrate knowledge of client businesses and systems.
  • Manage, analyze, and interpret financial data to present to management and the client.
  • Manage multiple clients concurrently.
  • Collaborate with clients, and assist them as they identify accounting needs, support them on bookkeeping issues, and provide them with training on basic software usage.
  • Maintain consistent communication with management and staff regarding client business implementations and new processes as well as client engagement workflow, progress, and planning.
  • Communicate to management opportunities for additional client projects; lead agreed upon presentations of projects to client personnel.
  • Perform complex research and prepare research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents as appropriate.
  • Perform or assist with other services and special projects as needed.

Administration

  • Lead process improvements; solicit feedback on department performance and formulate an action plan in response to the feedback.
  • Develop billing responsibility.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to staff; prepare semi-annual evaluations and present to staff.
  • Review productivity, realization, and other appropriate metrics.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Foster and encourage career growth of staff; share credit for team accomplishments; adopt coaching attitude to assist less-experienced staff; assist staff members in client meetings.
  • Participate in training CAS personnel; assist in developing training programs and materials.
  • Support other departments in client meetings and services; establish good working relationships with all partners and staff; consistently works with partners and managers to improve support, workflow, and client service.

Professional Development

  • Develop a specialization in the field; obtain additional professional certifications or designations as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a network of peer and business contact relationships inside the firm to ensure the Firm can assist clients in addressing the broadest possible set of needs and cultivate referrals.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assist with department projects
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Drive to client sites as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the supervision of 2-5 direct reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent education/experience. CPA designation and/or graduate degree in accounting preferred.
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience with demonstrated progression in roles and responsibilities in accounting required. Proficient in double entry accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, cloud accounting software, Microsoft products and various payroll software.
  • Advanced skills in Excel

Certificates, Licenses

  • CPA designation preferred
  • Valid drivers license, acceptable driving record, adequate insurance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is constantly required to sit and use a computer and keyboard . The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, use the telephone and talk or hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and stoop or bend. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical corporate office environment. Frequent incoming telephone calls, printers, scanners and copiers as well as clients contribute to a noise level of average to above-average. Frequent interruptions may occur.

Wage Transparency

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $73,840.00 and $79,040.00 per year. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
