Job Status: Full-time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: TBD

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday

Amount of Travel Required: 10-20%

Position Description

Pioneer Technical Services is currently looking for an entry level Civil/Environmental Engineer to work out of our Anaconda, MT office. This Position assists the Project Engineer with the execution of construction oversight and basic engineering tasks throughout all phases of the project. The Staff Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Project Engineer assigned to individual projects and to the engineer's Team Leader. The Staff Engineer is an entry level position requiring little or no experience. A Bachelor's degree and a basic understanding of engineering principles are required. Candidate must have a valid driver's license.

Essential Functions

1. PROJECT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Keep personal data updated to reflect current experience, training, registration and professional areas of expertise.
  • Represent Pioneer Technical Services to clients and prospective clients in a professional manner at all times.
  • Assist Project Engineer with scheduling of project tasks.
  • Work closely with clients to develop client relationships.

2. PROJECT EXECUTION - DATA VALIDATION PHASE

  • Executes specific tasks of the project assigned by the Project Engineer.
  • Typical projects involve soil, water/wastewater, transportation and/or environmental project design tasks.
  • Keeps the Project Engineer fully informed of what is transpiring with his/her part of the project.
  • Prepare task progress reports to keep the Project Engineer informed of the completion schedule and budget for each task.
  • Attend project control sessions as required.
  • Participate in the firm's QA and QC program, performing project tasks in accordance with company policies and standards.

3. PROJECT EXECUTION - FIELD WORK

  • Under the supervision of the Project Engineer, the Staff Engineer is responsible for oversight of construction activities to ensure design specifications are adhered to and deviations from approved practices are communicated to the Project Engineer.
  • Project administration duties include maintaining task files documenting the history of involvement with the project.
  • Monitor safety on the portion of the project assigned.

4. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT

  • Responsible for completion of the task assigned within budget and on schedule.

Position Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field REQUIRED.

Experience: None

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required with the basic understanding of utilizing Microsoft Office Products or equivalent
