Pinehurst Medical is Hiring a LPN/RN (Heather Glen Internal Medicine) Near Pinehurst, NC

 Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC)

What will you do as a PMC Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

 As a PMC Licensed Practical Nurse, under the direction of the physician(s), carry out specific nursing duties including the recording of vital signs, assisting with examinations and diagnostic procedures as requested. Perform other nursing activities described in the Licensed Practical Nurse Act. Administer prescribed medications and performs rehabilitative nursing duties.

A day in the life of a PMC LPN may include:

  • Reviews patient records, assuring they are complete with regard to previously ordered studies such as laboratory reports, x-ray reports, electrocardiogram reports, etc.
  • Assures that examining rooms assigned are properly equipped in terms of disposable supplies and also assures that all equipment is in working order.
  • Understands precertification process and may call for precertification’s. Works with patient account representatives and secretary to facilitate referrals and patient care. Alerts physician to needed documentation in charting.
  • Gathers patient information for vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergies, etc.
  • Assist physicians with examination and procedures as necessary.
  • Abides by OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintains patient and practice confidentiality.
  • Maintains professional demeanor at all times with patients, caregivers, physicians and coworkers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed as Practical Nurse in the State of North Carolina. 
  • BLS/CPR certification required. ACLS/PALS is required in specialty areas as determined by accrediting bodies (Cardiology, Infusion, Rheumatology Infusion, CT & GI Endo)

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience as a LPN in a clinical/ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Experience working with an EMR system preferred

What will you do as a PMC Registered Nurse (RN):

As a PMC Registered Nurse (RN), provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, and provide a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. The functions of the Registered Nurse are to collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient, develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes, working collaboratively with the healthcare team. Perform professional nursing work of considerable difficulty including the care of patients as outlined by physicians and the objectives and policies of the organization.

 A day in the life of a PMC Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Works within scope of license, develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients. Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education including procedures and/or disease processes.
  • Obtains, reviews, verifies and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate. .
  • Help maintain patient flow and workflow. Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic. 
  • Recognizes patient rights and provides for confidentiality of patient information and for dignity through own performance and in relationship with others. 
  • Collaborates with other disciplines; promotes and supports research activities; and utilizes available resources to provide and improve patient care. 
  • Participates in medical staff meetings as required.
  • Participates in quality improvement team efforts, including meetings to discuss quality assurance improvement initiatives.
  • Observes patients and reports changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and takes any necessary action.
  • Measures and records patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. Identifies and/or communicates any safety issues for the clinical equipment, building, follows-up to ensure completion.
  • Assists physicians with examination and procedures as necessary.
  • Maintains patient areas and working spaces in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Monitors use of supplies/medications; restocks as necessary and informs appropriate persons of needs for additional supplies. 
  • This position may be assigned to special projects or accountabilities when other priorities are identified.
  • Performs other related duties as required. 

Qualifications:

Education (Including Licenses and Certifications):

  • Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. 
  • BLS/CPR certification required. ACLS/PALS is required in specialty areas as determined by accrediting bodies (Cardiology, Infusion, Rheumatology Infusion, CT & GI Endo)

Experience:

  • Experience working with an EMR system preferred 
  • Two years of clinical/ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
