Pine Bluff Waste Water Utility is Hiring an Equipment Specialist I Near Bluff, AR

SUMMARY

Responsible for completion of jobs assigned by the supervisor and crew leader. Responsible for maintenance of equipment, vehicles and tools assigned to them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with crew on job assigned.

Check each piece of equipment before each job.

Operate various types of light and heavy equipment.

Maintain and account for all tools used and complete daily reports.

Perform manual labor.

Keep all work sites in a neat and orderly manner.

Work extended hours as needed.

Able to operate the assigned truck in an efficient manner.

Responsible for equipment valued at $150,000.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 19 to 23 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

Regular contacts within the department and occasional contacts with customers.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Class B CDL license with tanker endorsement.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position the incumbent is exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat and cold and wet or humid condition all non weather related. The incumbent works in high precarious places, near moving mechanical parts, is at risk of electrical shock and/or vibration. The incumbent is exposed to fumes and airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.07 - $19.58 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
