Hiring Range: $73,189 - $87,827 Annually
Full Range: $73,189 - $102,465 Annually
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
- principles and practices of engineering related to assigned area;
- engineering methods and practices when completing engineering planning studies, preparing designs, plans, specifications, analysis of systems, estimates and reports as applied to public improvement projects and operations;
- construction management, including inspection, as-built documentation, and construction practices;
- collection and use of spatial data, including topographic survey;
- electronic hardware/software to collect, analyze, and present geospatial, survey and systems analysis information.
- planning and directing the work of a group of support engineering personnel;
- coordinating the work of a unit with a general program or specific problems;
- application of engineering theory to address problems;
- modelling and analysis tools;
- coordination of various engineering and operational activities;
- supervising professional and support personnel;
- applying electronic hardware and software to the analysis/design of a variety of engineering problems;
- use of relevant engineering software.

Selection Procedure:Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Licenses and Certificates: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona or the ability to obtain registration in the State of Arizona within the probationary period of employment. Valid driver license is required at time of application.ValidAZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services’ review and approval of the candidate’s driving record.Special Notice Items: The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education and criminal conviction history.
