We are looking for a Pouching Utility candidate interested in starting a SWEET career as part of our packaging team at PIM’s Pierce Street facility in Somerset Nj.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Packaging Utility Worker is responsible for supporting packaging room employees on their day-to-day responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Record accurate product/packaging information and enter data into the computer system.
2. Create labels/placards and place them on the appropriate trays/area.
3. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP
4. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules
5. Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMPs.
6. Supply pouching machines with the necessary bulk needed and verify throughout the shift.
7. Generate, verify, and fill out Bulk Usage Report.
8. Enter and verify all relevant data into M3.
9. Generate and verify placards and M3 labels for the pouching machines, Triangle and HP2.
10. Enter and verify all relevant data into M3 at the end of shift.
11. Assist in keeping packaging machines and area clean and safe.
12. Perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging machines and assist in troubleshooting of any issues.
13. Assist mechanics/operators during changeovers from one product to another.
14. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
15. Ability to work additional hours as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 35 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

• High School education or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills are required.
• Willing to be trained.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English is required.

Preferred 1 year of packaging machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
