Pike Family Dentistry is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Media, PA

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, friendly, and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule (times may flex as is expected in a dental practice):

  • Monday: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. (lunch)
  • Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (lunch)
  • Wednesday 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. (lunch)
  • Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. (no lunch)

Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including patient assessment, instrument passing, and suctioning
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Record vital signs and medical history of patients
- Assist with medical coding and documentation
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records (on occasion)
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Follow proper aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
- Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient management and record keeping

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- X-Ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficient in taking accurate vital signs
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
