PICO Chemical Corporation is Hiring a QHSE Specialist Near Tinley Park, IL

Job Overview:

PICO Chemical Corporation, Chicago Heights, Illinois, is an ISO 9001 manufacturer of specialized industrial chemicals and lubricants since 1976.

We are seeking a QHSE Specialist (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental). This candidate should be highly experienced in ISO 9001:2015, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Environmental, Health, and Safety. The position is based in Chicago Heights, Illinois.

Primary Responsibilities

· Work with General Manager to collaboratively develop and execute a strategic QHSE vision.

· Promote a proactive safety culture driven through programs, policies, work instructions, training, and continual improvement.

· Perform all quality audits, assessments, trainings, root cause analysis, and generate reports related to all QHSE programs, policies, and work instructions.

· Enforce all legal and customer requirements.

· Be an expert who is responsible for company-wide health, industrial hygiene, PPE, and risk assessments.

· Understand all PICO processes and be responsible for the risk management program for each process.

· Manage, maintain, and update PICO’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System & its certification.

· Manage, maintain, & update all PICO related DOT, OSHA, and EPA requirements/standards & their certifications.

· Function as a back-up to the lab for performing QC functions as required.

· Complete EHS Reporting and regulatory compliance documents.

· Prepare and oversee PICO’s Finished Goods SDS, TDS, and CoA’s.

· Oversee all raw material SDS’s and translate the regulatory information into PICO’s finished goods SDS’s utilizing the bridging principle.

· Complete all external and employee position related requests and be knowledgeable on all requirements for USMCA, Harmonized Training System, & importing and exporting of goods.

Qualifications

· B.S. degree in related field.

· Robust working knowledge of EHS regulations

· ISO 9001:2015 and EHS 5 years’ experience required.

· Lab equipment (FTIR, Titration, GC, etc.) 5 years’ experience required.

· 5 years’ experience of EPA requirement and reporting knowledge, OSHA safety programs and DOT HazMat experience required.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well-developed problem solving, decision making, and negotiation skills, detail oriented and strong organizational skills required.

· Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), EHS software & ERP software (Chempax VB a plus)

· Sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day.

· Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

· 5 years’ experience in manufacturing areas (Lab, Plant, Shipping/Receiving/Maintenance/Warehouse) that requires PPE.
