Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team and provide financial support for our property management office. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and has a strong background in accounting principles and practices as well as some experience in corporate tax. Special preference will be given to candidates with real estate or rental property management experience.

Responsibilities:

· Process payroll for internal employees and prepare all payroll reports and returns

· Oversee and perform bookkeeping functions related to property management such as tenant receivables and security deposits, rent increases, daily bank deposits and vendor payables

· Monitor new construction projects by preparing bank construction draws and paying subcontractors

· Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions including year-end adjusting entries

· Prepare monthly owner statements for managed rental properties

· Provide cash management for several bank accounts including bank reconciliations, bank transfers, and ACH files

· Collaborate with CPA Firm on year-end accounting for tax return preparation

· Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.

· Must have experience in all aspects of processing payroll and preparing all employer payroll reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns, filing W-2s and 1099s.

· Strong understanding of debits, credits, double-entry bookkeeping, accounts receivable and accounts payable

· Ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and efficiently

· Knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices

· Experience in corporate accounting, including financial statement preparation

· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

· Experience with Quickbooks Deskop and/or Quickbooks online preferred

· Experience with AppFolio property management software a bonus

Pay: $46,023.73 - $55,426.43 per year
