Physicians of Southwest Washington is Hiring a Medicare Sales Agent Near Olympia, WA

THIS POSITION REQUIRES WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY

Employees must establish a residence in Washington State within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with PSW. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.


Summary / Objective:

The Medicare Sales Agent will speak to Medicare beneficiaries educating them on their Medicare plan options, rights and ensuring they are connected to a plan that best meets their needs. This position involves a blend of knowledge, empathy, and communication skills, as agents guide clients through the complexities of Medicare. Build community relationships to help drive self-generated sales.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in individual sales activities ensuring that Medicare Advantage recipients are making informed choices about their health care. This includes connecting with beneficiaries over the phone to provide expert guidance on their Medicare options. Other avenues for connection include email, conducting formal presentations, question, and answer sessions as well as one-on-one appointments.
  • Identify, evaluate, solicit, and follow-up with business development opportunities through multiple sales, communications, and marketing methods.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the market served, CMS, Insurance Commissioner guidelines, and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Build processes and tools to increase member retention and engagement to drive overall membership growth.
  • Complete and process all required paperwork and online applications accurately and compliantly to enroll clients in their chosen Medicare plan.
  • Provide clear, accurate explanations of Medicare plan features, always follow CMS and Carrier compliance. This includes covering the Summary of Benefits and scope of appointments prior to any application.
  • Report sales activities and market trends to managements including client feedback to help improve processes as appropriate.
  • Ensure passing all AHIP, carrier and compliance training annually

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers including active listening, professional verbiage and written correspondence.
  • Great with laptop computers, cell phones and the ability to navigate mobile apps. This also includes knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Work to engender trust, honoring confidentiality and following compliance at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Plan, schedule and direct work of self while balancing the needs of the role.

Required Work Experience:

    • Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

      • Must possess and maintain a Washington State Resident Producer license as required by the Washington State Department of Insurance in life, accident & health.
      • Requires a Washington State valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance.
      • A history of compliant insurance sales

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:

    • Experience in managed care and Medicare, health care systems, and medical administration
    • Proven customer service experience and/or provider network referrals, liaison, or similar role
    • Engaged with the community through service, organizations, activities, and volunteerism
    • Bilingual with the ability to speak, read and write in both English and an additional language without limitations or assistance (language proficiency assessment provided by outside vendor may be required).
    • Current AHIP certification

Base Salary - Benchmarked to to the 50-75th percentile of comparable positions

Annual Incentive - 5% annual bonus, subject to employee and company performance (pro-rated in first year for partial year participation)

Paid-Time Off, Extended Illness Leave and and Paid Holidays - 19 paid vacation/sick days/year (increase to 22 days/year in year 3 and 26 days/year in year 5); 11 paid holidays/year; and 7 paid extended illness days/year.

Medical Insurance - PSW will pay 100% of employee premium and 45% of dependent premium

Dental Insurance - PSW will pay 100% of employee premium and 45% of dependent premium

Vision Insurance - PSW will pay 100% of employee premium and 45% of dependent premium

Life Insurance - All benefit eligible employees are provided a $40,000 life insurance policy that remains in effect for the duration of PSW employment.

Health Savings Account (HSA) - Employees that enroll in an HSA medical plan will receive contributions into their HSA account from PSW. $3,000/year for individual plans and $4,200/year for family plans.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - FSA is available to employees. Maximum contribution are $3,300/year for Healthcare FSA and $5,000/year for Dependent Care FSA.

401(k) Retirement - PSW offers a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match of up 4% of an employees gross earnings.

Tuition Reimbursement - PSW will pay up to $5,250/year pf qualifying higher education expenses to employees with at least one year of employment.
