This is an exciting time to be joining a growing inpatient behavioral health hospital located in Shreveport, LA. Physicians Behavioral Hospital is currently a 48 bed inpatient unit with a very busy outpatient service. The organization is recruiting additional revenue cycle staff members to assist the department and the growth of the facility.

Physicians Behavioral Hospital draws patients from all over the region and has a strong reputation in the medical community for excellent patient outcomes and exceptional medical staff.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in understanding insurance verification, billing and collecting. We prefer years of experience however we will interview less experienced candidates. At this time we are only interested in candidates with experience in this area.

The candidate will be responsible for the facilitation of follow up on denied claims, retro claims, missing information, secondary insurance verification, Medicaid enrollment to ensure treatment is funded appropriately.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Verify insurance on all new admissions.
• Obtain copies of patient’s insurance card and identification and scan into EMR system.
• Maintain electronic documentation of approvals and denials in the EMR (Med-EZ) and in Utilization Review Shared Drive.
• Provide daily updates to hospital leadership regarding denials and manage collections efforts and unfunded/charity stays.
• Complete/Monitor appeals and retroactive reviews upon discharge according to contracted providers’ requirements.
• Assist with tracking denials, appeals, and retroactive requests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
