Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Reports To: Accounting Manager

Summary Job Description: As an Accounts Receivables Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing the company’s accounts receivable function, with a primary focus on collections and reconciliations. You will plan and direct the activities of the accounts receivable and collections process, providing insight and guidance to billing processes as well as cross training in areas to provide backup support for operations and finance team members as well as some responsibility for some general office administration.
Objectives and Responsibilities include the following:
· Manage the accounts receivable process from recording cash receipts to collections, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Provide input on the customer billing processes for improvement opportunities.
· Conduct receivables analysis and regular follow-ups with customers to secure timely payments and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
· Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to minimize outstanding receivables.
· Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and resolve billing disputes.
· Maintain documentation and records related to accounts receivable transactions.
· Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
· Provide accounting support for other areas such as accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and payroll.
· Provide operations and finance team support.
Education/Experience:
· Required: Two-year degree in accounting; 2 years of experience in a similar accounting position; Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
· Preferred: B.S. in Accounting or current candidate for a four-year accounting degree; Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close procedures. Experience with human resources and payroll.
Other Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
· Proven experience in accounts receivable and collections, with a strong understanding of collection procedures and best practices.
· Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications;
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping;
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices;
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation and Benefits: Competitive hourly pay (based on experience).
Schedule: This is a full-time position with regular business hours 8:00am – 4:30pm. Some flexibility may be required to accommodate peak workload periods.
Work Location: This is an on-site position at our office in New Brighton, MN.
