    POSITION TITLE: JROTC Army Instructor
    DIVISION: Instruction & Accountability
    WORK YEAR: 9 mos

    SALARY SCHEDULE: JROTC
    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITES:
    Responsible to conduct classes and supervise extra-curricular activities as directed. Normally operates at one school but may be assigned duties at more schools as the workload/enrollment dictates.
    MAJOR DUTIES:
    • Conduct classes as prescribed by Army directives, Director of Army Instruction (DAI), and Senior Army Instruction (SAI).
    • Assist the SAI in preparation of reports and equipment requests.
    • Coach JROTC Color Guard, drill, range, and marksmanship teams as assigned.
    • Assist in the supervision of cadets involved in curricular and extracurricular activities and participate in the activities as assigned.
    • Assume the duties of the SAI during his absence.
    • Maintain U.S. Army standards for the wearing of his/her uniform and personal conduct.
    • Responsible to assist in the total management and administration of the program.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School diploma or equivalent (mandatory). College degree (preferred). Graduate of any Army NCO Academy (preferred).
    • U.S. Army retiree of 20 or more years active duty in grade of SFC to SGM (U.S. Army required).
    • Teaching experience at Senior ROTC level or Military Service School during last 5 years (Preferred).
    • Service in combat arms during past 3 years of active duty (preferred).
    • Experience in coaching Color Guard, Drill, range and/or marksmanship teams (preferred).
    • Not retired more than 5 years at the time of employment (U.S. Army required). Must be certified by Fourth ROTC Region.
    • Meet all physical standards as outlined in Army Regulation 40-501, Chapters 2 and 5, Appendix III (U.S. Army required).
    • Must have a functional knowledge of the subject matter contained in the program of instruction and be capable of employing the principles and procedures for methods of military instruction (U.S. Army required).
    • Knowledge of U.S. Army supply and administrative procedures at company or detachment level (U.S. Army required).
    • Skilled at working with others and leading and motivating cadets by example.
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
    Directly to the Senior Army Instructor or Principal, indirectly to the Supervisor for Army Instruction.
