DIRECTOR, TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT
MAJOR JOB DUTIES
  • Oversee User and Classroom Technology Operations: Manage and maintain Microsoft365, Azure, Active Directory administration, MDM, Helpdesk, budget, refresh cycle, inventory, online testing, software, and campus technology devices assigned to staff and students across all sites and employee groups.
  • Provide Technical Support: Oversee district and campus Technology Support team members, and Helpdesk procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to enable effective teaching, learning, and administrative operations.
  • Training and Professional Development: Develop and conduct technology training sessions and workshops for staff members to enhance their ability to use assigned district devices and trouble shoot problems, increase digital literacy and proficiency in utilizing educational technology tools effectively. Provide cyber security training in accordance with cyber liability guidelines.
  • Evaluate and Recommend Technology Solutions: Continuously assess emerging technologies and educational software applications to evaluate their suitability for integration into the curriculum with cross-divisional teams. Make recommendations for adoption based on compatibility with existing systems.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology budget for the district, allocating resources effectively to meet the needs of individual campuses while ensuring fiscal responsibility and federal, state or grant compliance.
  • Data Security and Privacy: Implement and enforce data security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as FERPA, HIPPA, COPPA and CIPA.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and communication between technology staff and identified stakeholders to align technology initiatives with educational goals and priorities.
  • Hardware and Software Procurement: Coordinate the procurement, deployment, and inventory management of hardware and software assets across all campuses, ensuring equitable access and adequate resources for teaching and learning.
  • Project Management: Lead technology-related projects, such as infrastructure upgrades, software and hardware deployments, bond funded initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and service level agreements to secure favorable terms and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures to minimize disruptions to technology services in the event of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Stay Informed about Educational Technology Trends: Stay abreast of trends and developments in educational technology, attending conferences, participating in professional organizations, and engaging in ongoing professional development to remain informed about best practices and emerging innovations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess a master’s degree in computer science, IT equivalent, or education support related field preferred.
  • Have five (5) years of experience in an IT leadership role, or five (5) years job related experience filed for non-academic manager positions preferred.
  • Have three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Have experience in facilitating employee groups for implementation or initiatives or programs preferred.
  • Have knowledge of and experience with school personnel and division related law, policies, and procedures.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director is responsible for the specific assigned leadership, management, and direction of campus services and supports. Coordination of personnel assignments, academic and service models, fiscal responsibility, community relations, and resources that are essential areas administration. Works collaboratively with community partners to implement programs and practices for the purpose of student achievement.
MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Works collaboratively to assist with establishing goals, objectives, and action steps for the purpose of continuous improvement.
  • Establishes and executes organizational systems and strategies to monitor District goals.
  • Reports results of improvement plan effectiveness and District goals.
  • Assists in communication expectations, providing support, managing the results, and supporting the day-to-day functions of teams and/or programs assigned.
  • Develops and monitors strategies for high-level collaboration amongst staff.
  • Communicates effectively and maintains a positive disposition in all circumstances to ensure an outcome that promotes student academic achievement, staff professional development, and District-wide success.
  • Engages in professional learning to enhance his/her knowledge and skill.
  • Helps design and participates in school and/or District professional development activities to improve District practices.
  • Implements systems of leadership, support, and guidance for school and District personnel.
  • Assists in recruiting, selecting, orienting, evaluating, and training employees.
  • Plans and maintains program and/or team budgets within budgetary parameters.
  • Completes othe related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
