Position Summary

Coordinate operations and improve processes related to shipping and packaging to meet customer expectation. 

Essential Functions

• Provide tactical leadership to Shipping Operatives
• Ensure daily outbound shipments are packaged and processed according to quality standards and expected shipment dates.
• Operate shipping software including full understanding of capabilities and error resolution.
• Monitor freight processing for shipments including customer orders, transfers, returns, equipment, etc.
• Resolve issues for outbound shipments related to delays, damages, invoicing, and customs.
• Provide support to internal customers about all shipping and freight carriage needs.
• Interact with freight carriers/dispatch to share PM and customer requirements.

Requirements

Skills

• Knowledge of shipping best practices and ability to apply in a multi-product industrial environment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and ability to use at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of packaging and freight handling and ability to apply in a non-standard environment. 
• Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks and stretch wrapper.
• Ability to operate power and manual hand tools.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• One to four years shipping experience in an industrial environment
