Phoenix Elementary School District 1 is Hiring a Coordinator of School Psychologist Services Near Phoenix, AZ

Grade 128- Placement range DOE: $86,645.00 to $99,024.00

JOB SUMMARY

Ensuring student success begins with understanding all students’ strengths, talents, and needs. School Psychologists play a critical role in not only developing a deep understanding of students in Phoenix #1, but also collaborating with educators, families, and others in ensuring all students have access to the resources that will ensure their success. The Coordinator of School Psychologist Services serves as the lead psychologist for the District, providing leadership and coordinating all psychologist services in partnership with schools and the Director of Special Education. This critical role secures access to excellent psychologist services at each of our com munity’s schools, and developing a supportive environment for students and educators alike.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, monitor, and support psychologist services across the District, including developing, supporting and evaluating a team of school psychologists and psychologist interns.
  • Coordinate the organization and operation of programs in school psychologist services, in collaboration with administrators, school psychologists, school and district staff, local agencies, families and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of evaluation systems, including determining evaluation instrument needs, maintaining an adequate supply of instruments and protocols, maintaining records from instruments and protocols, and accounting for location of instruments and resources.
  • Provide training, support, consultation and guidance to school psychologists in individual psychological evaluation of students, administering and interpreting results from a variety of evaluation instruments, and ensuring the overall effectiveness of school psychologist services.
  • Co-chair the District Review and Placement Committee, ensuring the committee and all school psychologist services comply with State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to special education.
  • Develop and maintain effective information systems pertaining to student records, budgeting, communication, training, and other data required for completing annual reports in compliance with federal and local laws and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· Valid Arizona School Psychologist Experience.

· At least three (3) years of experience as a School Psychologist, or in a related field.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· Supervisory or administrative experience in a Special Education program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

  • Research, regulations, and best practices in school psychologist services, including knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, child development and learning, and development of exceptional children.
  • Procedures, laws and regulations in the identification, placement, and instruction of students with special needs.

Skilled in:

  • Effective leadership and management of people, teams, systems, and projects.
  • Strategic planning, fostering collaboration, and developing communication and operation systems among multiple teams.

Ability to:

  • Ensure compliance, model excellence, and reach strong outcomes in all aspects of the school psychologist program, especially with regards to ensuring success for all students.
  • Communicate with multiple stakeholders in order to inspire purpose and work towards a common goal.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud and can vary in temperature. The nature of this position is fast-paced and may occasionally be thought of as stressful. Through interaction with the public and other district employees, the employee may encounter different scents.
