Phoenix Country Day School is Hiring a CAMPUS SECURITY OFFICER Near Paradise, AZ

The Campus Security Officer will provide safety and security for the PHOENIX COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL campus through proactive patrol of the school, including monitoring traffic control before and after school, monitor video surveillance cameras, and provide security in a visible manner throughout the campus during school hours and at special events. The Campus Security Officer will also assist with safety plans / drills, respond accordingly to emergency situations to address security concerns, diffuse situations and then report incidents to the Director of Operations and Campus Security.

  • Salary range is $20-$22 hour depending on experience ($41,600 - $45,760 annually)
  • Monday - Friday, 7 am to 330 pm, plus additional hours after school or weekends if needed for events
  • Benefit package to include medical, dental, tuition assistance and 403b
  • High school / GED equivalent is minimum requirement, or college degree in relevant field is preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides a highly visible security presence at school on foot, vehicle or golf cart and monitors activities before, during, and after school hours, as well as during extracurricular events.
  • Monitors student behavior, campus radio transmissions, assists in drills and responds in accordance with PCDS policies and procedures to any emergency situations.
  • Conducts traffic control, before and after school.
  • Maintains confidentiality and follows all PCDS policies and procedures in regards to student, staff and parent interactions.
  • Monitor video surveillance system, provides assistance with delivery access and monitors access control system.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Have a working knowledge of current security procedures and practices, video surveillance systems, access control systems, radio function and use.
  • Have problem solving skills, customer service attitude, team player, exercise good judgment and decision making in all situations, including emergencies.
  • Have verbal and written communication skills, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Be self motivated and motivated to learn new skills or tasks, ability to multitask.
  • Valid AZ Drivers License
  • First Aid and CPR certifications or acquire within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to pass extensive fingerprint and background check applicable to working at a school
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed for after school events or weekends
  • Ability to work during prolonged periods of standing, walking or in extreme temperatures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
