Phoenix Behavioral Health is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Lakewood, NJ

Phoenix Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate, driven and career-oriented individual to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals as a Medical Biller. Our billing professionals are responsible for billing and collecting payments from patients and insurance companies. As part of our team of healthcare professionals, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure that each patient is cared for and assisted as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review insurance claims prior to submission to ensure accuracy
  • Adjust and submit claims as appropriate
  • Evaluate denials for accuracy and ensure they are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that secondary bills are submitted and received in a timely manner
  • Identify and resolve overpayments made by patients and insurance carriers
  • Assist patients with setting up payment plans
  • Assist with reporting requirements and data analysis, among other responsibilities.

Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with billing terminology and billing practices including payment posting, following up on aged accounts and experience with Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
  • Strong clerical and computer skills. Prior clerical experience preferred
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and have a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend basic instructions, brief correspondence, and memos
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
