Phillips Pet Food & Supplies is Hiring an Associate Buyer Near Easton, PA

Position Summary:The main function of this role is to effectively manage inventory for the three Petflow warehouses to maximize sales, profitability, and operational efficiency, and to support all efforts regarding omnichannel retail within our corporation. This includes monitoring and maintaining target in-stock rates and inventory turns. This is an onsite position to be based out of our Easton, PA corporate office Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Purchasing - Review and analyze purchasing suggestions based on historical sales and mins/maxes established in the order template, reconcile inventory levels with demand plans, and place purchase orders to ensure proper stocking levels and service standards (Days on Hand, Inventory Turns, and In-Stock Rate).Works with Manager to develop, monitor, and pursue tactical initiatives/ projects with merchandising & marketing, vendor and/or supplier partners, and operations to achieve the company's merchandising, sales, and inventory management goals. Works with the Manager to monitor the inbound and outbound fill rates for your assigned vendors to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively and communicate information as needed. This includes written reports and oral presentations. Analyze and maintain correct setup for assigned vendors and/or suppliers, and items.Evaluate opportunities to redistribute and/or return unproductive inventory.Monitor open purchase orders for on-time delivery and timely closing of them to proactively address any issues that can arise as a result of delays.Prepares weekly inventory review and presents findings in weekly business review meetings.Works with the Manager to monitor inventory and analyze trends for assigned vendors and/or suppliers and items to identify opportunities for improvement in cost and delivery. (i.e., non-productive items, short-dated and aged inventory).Serve as a resource to cross-functional partners by answering inquiries regarding inventory availability and pending order requests. Responsible for a clear understanding of omni-channel merchandise strategy for each brand you purchase. Responsible for knowledge and compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures, and Code of Conduct.Other duties may be assigned.Position Requirements:1-3 years of applicable business experience in buying.Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in cross-functional teams.Demonstrated success in remaining flexible and ability to shift strategies as the business requires.Proficiency in using MS Office software to effectively execute work tasks, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Power BI; ability to learn internal database and software systems.Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication.
