Job Title: AssistantDirector of Science Education

SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Science Education has direct oversight of the operations of informal education initiatives and learning experiences at the museum from conception to implementation and works under the supervision of the Director of Science Education. These experiences include, but are not limited to: camp programs, programming for youth with special needs, field trip experiences, internships, community engagement, learning opportunities in line with special events, curriculum development and professional learning opportunities for K-12 classroom teachers, early learning programs and in-museum public programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work time will be split between working in an open office setting and on the floor observing programs, and helping with program oversight. Occasional exposure to outdoor activities may be requested. Weekend and evening work in alignment with programs is sometimes required.
