Pharr Road Animal Hospital, located in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing team! Caring for pet families since 1974, we started out as a humble, one-doctor practice. Licensed Veterinary Technician Role Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
  • Associate degree in Veterinary Technology

Licensed Veterinary Technician Responsibilities

  • Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
  • Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
  • Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
  • Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Competently perform dental prophylaxis
