Job Title: Veterinary Territory Manager

Department: Sales for Pet Health

Position: Part-Time; Non-exempt

Salary: $100,000 (Commission Based)

Supervisor: VP of Clinical Sales

Job Summary:

Promotes sales of all PetVet Dx products to assigned distributor while building long term strategic business relationships.

Essential Duties:

· Customer service: Provides prompt, accurate, and excellent services to internal and external customers. Develops solid professional working relationships with various internal departments and units and, as required, vendors, providers, employers, brokers, and other customers.

· Facilitates meetings: Attends and facilitates committee and other collaboration meetings for information and education.

· Special projects and other tasks: These may include but are not limited to workgroups, proposals, audits, and backup support for different departments.

· Calls on veterinary customers, prospects, and distributor representatives within a distinguished geographic area in the field and by telephone, informs them of new and existing products/services, and explains characteristics and benefits.

· Promotes and sells all veterinary products and services offered by the company.

· Communicates with existing customer base on a consistent basis to: (1) monitor customer satisfaction; (2) resolve customer problems and concerns; (3) monitor competitive position; and (4) Provide technical support. Makes presentations and trains distributor sales force (inside and outside) on company products.

· Plans, gain commitments and implements marketing plans and promotions with distributor management.

· Communicates with existing customer base on a consistent basis to: (1) monitor customer satisfaction; (2) resolve customer problems and concerns; and (3) monitor competitive position.

· Develops sales plans (Plan of Action) and strategies to penetrate new markets and increase market share and profitability of territory.

· Quotes approved prices and persuades prospects and customers to buy.

· Works with communications department and other members of the sales team to develop marketing ideas.

· Secures, records, and places distributor orders. Arranges shipping and delivery details as required.

· Meets or exceeds budgeted sales revenues.

· Maintains and develops lists of distributor sales representatives from distributor sales rosters and company directories.

· Documents customer questions and answers.

· Documents product requests by customers or potential clients.

· Maintains effective communication within the department and with other internal and external clinical and research professionals. To include the answering of telephone calls from client offices, the receipt and accessioning of specimens to maintain a high level of customer service.

· Receive calls and input the patient information into the LIMS database and instruct patients on how to perform genetic tests requested.

· The Accessioner will explain the types of tests conducted in the laboratory to other accessioners, physicians, and other health care facilities.

· Provide collection instructions to clients.

· Collect samples from animals under supervision or independently if signed off by General Supervisor.

· Speak with veterinarian, or supporting staff, on PetVet Dx protocols and procedures.

Physical Demands

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds, standing and/ or walking continuously. There may me long periods of sitting involved. Infrequent exposure to hazards such as dust, fumes, or extreme temperatures, airborne or bloodborne pathogens, or allergens. Exposure to UV lights while some equipment is in use in the labs. Must have the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects. Online color-blind test is required.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or BS) or higher. 5 or more years’ experience required; Good organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through skills, computer skills, and advanced typing skills.
