The Patient Access Director's primary accountability is to ensure that patient-centered service is paramount and that financial goals are achieved for assigned departments within a strong, positive, collaborative culture. Leading all functions within assigned areas of operations, which provide service to patients, with direct reports and team members to achieve operational and financial performance expectations and to implement strategic initiatives associated with long- and short-term goals. The Director is responsible for ensuring optimal outcomes for the patients and clients in all front-end service, including, but not limited to insurance verification/coordination, time of service collections and financial clearance. Also responsible for building customer confidence, and committed to increasing customer satisfaction, sets achievable customer expectations, assumes responsibility for solving customer problems, and ensuring commitments to customers are met.
Preferred Education:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field.
Required Technical Skills:
Strong analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis skills to evaluate problems and interpret trends; Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with clinical and financial health care colleagues; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; Expert knowledge of healthcare industry financial statistical indicators.
Preferred Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Meditech expanse, Craneware, and ambulatory care platforms. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Possession and maintenance of one of the following professional certifications: Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or Certified Patient Account Manager (CPAM) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification.
Required Experience:
5 years of experience leading a hospital Patient Access department at a manager or Director level
