Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a IT Support Specialist to be responsible for the installation and maintenance of PC's, terminals, printers, data links and software for the facility. Assists staff with operational needs. Participates in department's continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

What your day will look like:

• Providing adept facility support of an IT infrastructure that includes Windows desktops, clinical systems, and other related technology as determined by the business and in compliance with established IT standards and protocols.
• Troubleshooting technical issues with the software, hardware, and clinical systems.
• Providing technical support for Windows 7, 10, and Microsoft Office
• Providing software support for locally facility hosted applications, as well as, critical systems such as electronic health records
• Cerner Millennium working knowledge
• Working in partnership with home office centralized IT in support of the facility
• Serving as a technical liaison for the facility with outside parties
• Adhering to IT support processes and security requirements
• Assist in implementation activities wherever technology assistance is required
• Assist with supporting documentation on implemented systems
• Provide help desk phone support and respond to messages in a courteous and timely manner. Have the ability to handle and prioritize several requests at one time. Handle stressful situations appropriately.
• Communicates any changes in procedures with supervisor to keep them informed. Accepts accountability for job performance. Consistently shows a willingness to assist coworkers in a courteous manner to provide department efficiency. Demonstrates a willingness to adjust hours based on hospital needs.

Success Factors:

• High school diploma or GED, required
• Associates degree, preferred
• Two years’ experience with Active Directory, VPN, Exchange, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems and Windows desktop support.
• Familiarity with Cerner Millennium electronic health records, preferred.
• Healthcare experience is a plus as well as an understanding of HIPAA and security protocols to protect PHI is a requirement.
• Ability to communicate in English; both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Knowledge of computer technology and equipment; modems, printers, PC's.
• Knowledge of data communications hardware and software.
