The RN obtains a health history on patients by telephone or appointment. When patient has appointment, the nurse does a physical assessment in addition to a history. orders preadmission tests following anesthesia's criteria and physician orders. Uses nursing judgement when deciding which charts need to be seen by anesthesia.
Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Texas license as a RN and certified in Basic Life Support.
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Required Experience:
Two years experience as an RN in a hospital or outpatient environment

Preferred Experience:
Critical Care experience
