SUMMARY: Performs a variety of duties to facilitate resident food service and dining room set up and cleaning. Responds to residents' needs in a courteous and accommodating manner. Upholds strict organization standards of service and hygiene.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Sets up and cleans dining room, trays and tray lines, and kitchen facilities.
2. Prepares food and beverages for appropriate meal service.
3. Greets residents in a courteous, professional manner and helps with seating as needed.
4. Apportions and serves food and beverages and attends to residents' needs.
5. Delivers carts of food trays to nursing floors and retrieves carts after food service.
6. Fills, cleans, and replenishes food and beverage containers. Ensures adequate supply of utensils and paper supplies in all food service areas.
7. Prepares food, utensils, and dinnerware for service, clears from tables and trays, and cleans after use.
8. Washes dishes, utensils, and food containers; stores sanitized items. May operate a dish washer. Performs final cleaning and security of kitchen and dining facilities.
9. Prepares counts for the next day.
10. May operate kitchen equipment such as a blender or steam table.
11. Lifts trays of food and utensils.
12. Adheres to strict organization policy and government regulations for sanitation, food handling, and resident safety.
13. Maintains basic knowledge of food handling, therapeutic diets, and portion control.
14. Adheres to the Peter Becker Community Code of Conduct and all Corporate Compliance and HIPAA Policies and Procedures.
15. Attends all mandatory in-services.
16. Attendance is an essential function for this position.
17. Adheres to facility and department dress code.
18. Performs additional duties as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write, and speak English and follow written and verbal instructions.
MATHEMATICL SKILLS: Basic math knowledge and simple concept skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Clean, well-lit climate controlled environment. Works primarily in kitchen and dining room.
