POSITION OVERVIEW:

It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to ensure that production lines and employees work safely and efficiently to the specific needs of PPS customers.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday - Saturday 6:30am - 4:30pm (or until shift is complete). Off Sundays and one (1) other day during the week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise production employees in accordance with company policies and procedures which include Food Safety (GMP) and HAACP guidelines.

2. Ensure all safety standards are met to maintain an accident-free facility

3. Responsible for fulfilling production orders according to specific customer appointments, employee training, monitors inventory, and supervises production operations.

4. Monitor production needs through Famous software, communicates with the sales team and management throughout the day.

5. Monitor production for efficiency throughout the shift.

6. Coordinate inspection of product prior to production runs.

7. Inspect outgoing orders for quality, quantity, and proper pallet tags.

8. Responsible for staffing, the flow of the production lines, timely changeovers, and completing orders from an OTR schedule.

9. Assist in the organization of the Coolers and Production Floor including box storage and inventory levels.

10. Prepare the Daily Production Plan, then meet with the production team to organize and strategize the schedule.

11. Communicate with the Production Manager, who assigns the required Purchase Orders (POs) for the production runs.

12. Ensure Data Entry Clerk distributes required reports each evening prior to shift end.

13. Collaborate with production management on setting productivity goals for the team.

14. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum of 2 years supervisor experience in produce industry is preferred.

3. Knowledge of produce grading and quality standard preferred.

4. Must be proficient with computer and appropriate software.

5. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and consistently meeting tight timelines.

6. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees, management, and customers.

7. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hand and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands or arms. Working conditions include a warm room and cooler temperatures in the 52 to 55 degree range. Work involves lifting of materials and product weighing up to 25 pounds. The employee will regularly work around moving production equipment and powered industrial equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
