Petco is a category-defining health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of pets, pet parents and Petco partners. Responsibilities

In partnership with senior leaders, develop and execute the business unit's overall strategic plan in collaboration, identifying key objectives, initiatives, and performance indicators.

Lead aspects of the strategic planning process, including cross-functional strategic projects, financial budgeting and planning, OKR development, and new opportunity identification to guide the department's direction and decision-making.

Analyze complex business challenges and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership for achieving growth and profitability.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to foster collaboration and alignment across various functions.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking progress towards strategic objectives and presenting regular updates to senior leadership: AOP, strategy, Board/Investor prep.

Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage budgets aligned with strategic initiatives, ensuring responsible resource allocation and financial performance.

Serves as the “right hand” for the business unit leader to drive the business unit’s strategy.

Operates as “Communicator in Chief” across the business unit so that all teams are apprised of project timelines, status, and risks.

Leads organization cultural change towards a customer-centric business unit.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in eCommerce, Customer, Retail, Finance, or Strategy role.

• Consulting / corporate strategy background and/or experience as a chief of staff

• High EQ and always finds a way to deliver, whether its by rolling up your sleeves to get it done yourself, managing through influence, or guiding / motivating a team to rally through obstacles

• Proven track record of driving large-scale projects with complex cross-functional dependencies, holding action owners accountable to deadlines / budgets, and keeping stakeholders informed

• Data-driven problem solver with strong analytical / financial modeling skills

• Excellent communicator who can convey complex information clearly / succinctly, craft engaging narratives and bring them to life with compelling visuals, and prepare thoughtful business cases with in-depth research and robust analyses
